Areas of Expertise
Grief Support
I provide support and guidance to the dying and their loved one, helping them understand their feelings and navigate through the healing process. Coaching can be constructive for people struggling with intense emotions or who have difficulty moving on after a loss.
Logistical Death Planning (including Legacy Work)
I help bridge the gap between families and death care businesses. When a family has little experience with death or when they are afraid of confronting death, it's nice to have someone to count on. I act as a liaison between the family and the funeral home, helping to educate families about the options available to them and easing what can often be a difficult or painful arrangement process.

I also serve the dying with Legacy Work. Leaving a legacy gives loved ones something tangible to hold on to, something that can provide healing and comfort year after year, and generation after generation.
Death Cafe Facilitator
I make people feel safe to talk about death. I create a space to listen to and discuss all aspects of death and dying with equanimity and without judgment.

Advance Healthcare Directive Coordinator
Planning ahead can bring you and your loved ones peace of mind. This document has the power to outline your personal and medical healthcare choices and names an advocate to speak for you when you can't speak for yourself. I firmly believe everyone over the age of 18 should have one!
Master of Movement
With over 20 years in the fitness industry, Lucia believes movement can be a powerful tool for healing grief. It can release endorphins, improve sleep, provide a distraction, give a sense of accomplishment, help connect with others, improve self-esteem, and be a form of self-care. It can alleviate feelings of depression, anxiety and the experience of post-traumatic stress disorder; whilst also creating a sense of freedom, enabling the expression of emotions, providing a distraction, and an escape from grief.
Hospice & Family Support
Healthcare teams needs help too! Lucia offers respite for healthcare teams, so they don't face burnout. I validate all unique experiences and empower people with the knowledge and tools to help navigate the death journey with more confidence and peace of mind.
Lucia's Unique Approach
I help the dying and their loved ones gain more comfort & peace of mind to create a more meaningful end-of-life experience. I am both a witness and a guide. Whether you're overwhelmed with no idea of what to ask, what to expect, or how to help support yourself or a dying loved one through their dying journey, I would be honored to be part of your team.

I've worked in the medical field in multiple capacities across many specialties for over 20 years. I've been passionate about movement and teaching individual and group fitness for over 20 years. My holistic approach to dying is highly intuitive and flexible. Deep active listening is my forte.

Maria Rosina Galindo Barragan, my mother, was a caregiver her entire life. From an early age, she taught me about life and death. I had the honor to serve as her Death Doula in December of 2021. I have been on a mission ever since to be in service to the dying. I am her legacy. This is my calling. This is my path.

I actively volunteer at Hospice of Santa Cruz as a Volunteer Visitor.
Nobody should die alone. Everyone needs an advocate when they can't advocate for themselves.

During my free time, I enjoy practicing and teaching yoga, swimming in the ocean, writing poetry, reading, cooking, mountain biking, spending time with my chickens, running with Twinkles (my blonde blue-eyed husky) and living life to the fullest with my life partner, Chris, in Northern California amongst the Redwoods.
